Biography

Clarinetist Jongsun Jang has been praised for his purity and precision as a performer. While attending Seoul Arts High School, he moved to Germany to pursue further musical studies. He completed his Master’s degree at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, where he was later awarded a full DAAD scholarship to complete the prestigious Meisterklasse program (Konzertexamen). He then further refined his artistry by completing a postgraduate performance course for professional musicians at the Mozarteum University Salzburg in Austria.

Jang has appeared on various major media platforms, including KBS Classic FM, KBS Odyssey, EBS Space Empathy, KBS Young Artists Spotlight, and tvN’s People Inside hosted by Baek Ji-yeon. He also featured in the music documentary film Ensemble, produced by actor Kim Nam-gil. His performance career includes solo and chamber music appearances across Germany, France, Switzerland, and Japan.

Since his official recital debut in January 2020 at the Seoul Arts Center’s Recital Hall, he has continued to present annual solo recitals and remains active as a performer. He is also a featured artist for Légère Reeds, maintaining a strong connection with his audience.

Currently, Jongsun Jang serves on the faculty at Yewon School, Sunhwa Arts School, Seoul Arts High School, and Kangwon National University, where he is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of clarinetists.
