Biography
Uebel artist Dr. Niu Jianbo is currently a member of the Wind Music Society of the Chinese Musicians Association and Jilin Province Musicians Association, and Director of the Jilin Province Wind Music Society.
He graduated from China Conservatory of Music, and received master’s degree from Maastricht Conservatory of Music in the Netherlands, and doctor’s degree from the Glinka State Academy of Music in Magnitogorsk, Russia. He studied under renowned professors such as Dejun Dong, Yi He, Thorsten Johanns, and T. G. Yakimenko.
Dr. Niu served as Principal Clarinet of the China Youth Philharmonic Orchestra and Director of Quanzhou Chamber Orchestra before current position. He is the author of Research on Clarinet Performance Technique and Teaching Practice.
Internationally, he has won First Prize at both the International Competition for Young Musicians of Cuneo Italy and the Orpheus International Wind Music Competition in Russia.
