Danila Yankovsky was born into a family of musicians in 1983 and began studying music at the age of 7 in the piano class. At the age of 10, he was accepted into the SSMSh in the class of the deserving artist of Russia, V. Yankovsky. In 2001, he entered the Glinka Academy and then in 2004, he continued his studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Lübeck, Germany, where he studied in the class of professors Sabine Meyer and Reiner Wehle. He graduated in 2010.

Danila has won prizes in various competitions such as the "Siberian Musical Assemblies" in Novosibirsk, where he received the Grand Prix in 2002, and the International Competition W. Hofmann, where he won the II prize in 2002. In 2003, he was appointed to the G. Mahler World Youth Symphony Orchestra, with Claudio Abbado as the chief conductor and artistic director. In 2006-2007, Danila was the leader of the clarinet section in the Symphony Orchestra of Nations in Germany, under the direction of the principal conductor Justus Franz.

Danila has also participated in the international project "Clarinet Nights" in Lübeck twice, in 2007 and 2008, where he played with musicians such as Sabine Meyer, Rainer Veile, Wolfgang Meyer, Paul Mayer, Sebastian Manz, and others.

In 2017, Danila was invited to the Dissonance Orchestra in Paris and played several concerts in different cities in France. In 2019, he substituted in the Music Aeterna Orchestra under the direction of the artistic director and chief conductor, Theodor Currentzis.
